What is Kombucha
Kombucha is a sparkling fermented tea that originated in Manchuria, China. It has an ancient tradition and is 100% natural and easy to prepare.
Kombucha is made by combining tea and sugar with a SCOBY (symbiotic colony of bacteria and yeast). The SCOBY is the gelatinous disk like Kombucha “mushroom” that is used for the fermentation. It is able to transform organic compounds in the tea and sugar to make this delicious flavor.
This mixture is then fermented for 6-14 days and transformed into a sparkling, acidic, and refreshing beverage. Different flavours can be achieved by adding fruit after the fermentation is complete.
For more than 200 years Kombucha has been valued not only for its stimulating and healing effects, but also for its delicious flavor. In the last years it has become increasingly popular in the United States and other countries in Europe. In Spain it is quickly becoming more and more popular! Every day more people know about this marvellous probiotic beverage and use them to replace the conventional soft-drinks.

Why buy Probio Drinks Kombucha?
- Because we make our kombucha following the traditional and artisanal method with water of volcanic origin.
- Because the result is a live drink, unpasteurized, without additives or preservatives and fermented from a colony of yeasts and bacteria, and we do not add carbon dioxide: carbonation is natural.
- Because it is very low in sugar (between 1.6 and 3.7 gr / 100ml) depending on the flavor. We do not add more sugar than the fermentation itself.
